Communitas is a non-profit, open-knowledge initiative dedicated to preserving and revitalizing four decades of software history. Since 1986, I have developed applications for systems ranging from home computers to mainframes, using languages such as Assembler, COBOL, BASIC, Pascal, C, Java, SQL, Python, and Fortran.
Today the project focuses on recovering legacy platforms, preserving historical environments, and applying AI-assisted digital forensics — especially within the Finance, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Life Science, and Clinical Engineering sectors, where legacy systems remain mission-critical.
Our mission is to make this heritage accessible to researchers, students, and technology enthusiasts worldwide.
